We are Dennis Simmons and Don Erickson, doing business as Direct Exteriors. We have been installing siding and replacing windows together in the Kansas City metropolitan area since 1982. Dennis began his siding career back in 1980 in Omaha Nebraska, although he is originally from the Kansas City area and currently resides in Overland Park, Kansas.

I, Don Erickson was born in Raytown, Missouri and I still live there today. My first siding job was working with Dennis' company, Simmons Siding, in 1982. After we became partners we changed the name to Direct Siding Contractors. As the range of services that we offered expanded, it made sense to change the name to Direct Exteriors.

One thing that hasn't changed over the last twenty years in the home improvement business is our commitment to the highest quality products and workmanship at a fair price. We've seen a lot of siding and window companies come and go over the years, but we're still in business satisfying customers and honoring our warrantees. We give every job personal care and attention to detail. For example, we use expensive neutral-cure silicone caulk wherever we can rather than the cheaper butyl rubber that will quickly dry out and crack in the sun.

Dennis' son-in-law Shane has been working with us since 1997, and Rob joined us in 2000. When you contract a home improvement project with us, we are the people that will be performing the installation of your project at your home. The quality and value of any home improvement is, in the final analysis, determined by the quality of the materials and especially of the workmen performing the actual installation.

You can spend your home-improvement money on high-priced (and often high-pressure) salesmen, or you can invest it into the actual materials and workmanship that add value to your home.
